A man of remarkable character, Jody is remembered for his contributions to the workplace and the boundless generosity he extended to those around him. A proud graduate of Havana Northside High School, Jody earned his diploma in 1977. He dedicated three decades to Lindy’s Fried Chicken, where his tireless work ethic and commitment to excellence became a hallmark of his career. His warmth and kindness extended far beyond the workplace; he took immense joy in spending time with family and friends, creating cherished memories that will forever resonate in their hearts. Whether he was hanging out with loved ones or helping those in need, his selflessness was palpable and deeply appreciated by all who knew him. He leaves behind his beloved children Son: Vendor Maxwell, and Daughters: Crystal Chapman (Damien), and Candace Maxwell-Wilson (Johnny). Jody’s cherished granddaughter, Jaidan Rumph, brightened his days with her laughter, while his Sisters: Minnie Ruth Young. Andrea Mcgill, Jacqueline Mcgill, Yolanda B. Addidson. Brothers: Larry Maxwell, Lorenzo McGill, Melville Thomas(Carla),Darryl Gaines alongside cherished cousins/sister Bridgette Andrews, Christopher, and Herbert Owens, continue to celebrate his legacy. Jody is preceded in death by his loving mother, Lillie Mae Maxwell, and father, Albert Barber, both of whom instilled in him a strong sense of family and community values. He is also reunited with his caring Aunt Azulee Norton, alongside his deceased siblings, Johnny Bozeman, JD Bozeman, and Fannie Mae Golden. Although he is no longer with us, the indelible marks he left on the lives he touched will never fade.
