Amecia Brooks

December 8, 1970 — March 20, 2025

Havana

Amecia Denise Brooks, age 54, of Havana, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous battle with a long-term illness.

Amecia was born on December 8, 1970, to the late Virginia Weston and Alonzo Weston Sr. in Havana, Florida. She was raised in a home filled with love and strong values, which shaped her into the compassionate and nurturing woman she became. At an early age, she dedicated her life to Christ, and her faith remained the foundation of her strength throughout her life.

She was a proud graduate of Havana Northside High School, Class of 1989. Amecia had a passion for hairstyling, and her talent in braiding and styling hair became a source of joy not only for herself but also for those in her community.

Amecia later met and married Travis Brooks, and together they built a life filled with love and devotion. She was a dedicated mother, and her greatest joy in life was raising her four children: Angela Weston, Merica Weston, Ashley Weston, and Terrance Weston. Her love for her children was immeasurable.

In addition to her children, Amecia is survived by her beloved sister, Princess Weston, and her two devoted brothers, Alonzo Weston Jr. and Charles Weston. She also leaves behind her precious grandchildren, who brought immense happiness to her life, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who adored her. She was proceeded in death by her parents and siblings Leydia and Jafus Weston.

Those who knew Amecia will always remember her gentle spirit, infectious laughter, and generous heart.

Even in her final days, Amecia remained a pillar of strength and faith, reminding those around her to trust in God’s plan and embrace each day with gratitude. Her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will forever shine in the memories of those who loved her.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23
